Gravimetric dust
meter EMIOTESTR 2598
automatic
with moisture measurement - set
|
The portable gravimetric
dust meters, type EMIOTESTR,
manufactured by our Company have been gradually
supplied to:
- starting from
1991, all regional units of the State
Environmental Protection Inspection in
Poland,
- environment
protection services in big industrial
sites, mainly power stations, heat &
power generating plants, chemical works,
cement factories and steel works, as well
as private laboratoriEMIO Innovation &
Implementation Firmes.
In total,
there are over 200 sets of dust meters
manufactured by us operating in Poland. One
particular feature of our Company is high
creative and manufacturing flexibility. Equipment
and programme solutions enable quick adaptation
to requirements and needs of the user. In a
number of cases, these requirements are a source
of ideas for new solutions.
All dust meters from the EMIOTESTR
series being used meet requirements of PN-Z-04030-7,
and the form of editing final results - i.e. dust
concentration, gas stream volume and bulk dust
stream - is consistent with GIOS requirements
with respect to form of documentation from
control measurements. The most modern model of
automatic dust meter, EMIOTESTR 2598,
being offered additionally meets requirements
included in the ISOICD 12141.2 standard
concerning measurements of low dust concentration
using the gravity method.
1. Range of
application of the dust meter EMIOTESTR
2598
The
automatic dust meter EMIOTESTR 2598 is
a portable device designed to make measurements
of dust concentration in gases (e.g. in
waste gases) in the closed ducts as well as to
determine the stream of dust mass, e.g.
dust emission. The measurement is based on a
method of isokinetic aspiration of partial stream
of the tested gas and separation from it solid
particles on a filter. Isokinetic aspiration
relies on gas suction with the velocity equal to
the local gas velocity in the main tested stream.
It allows to assume, that the dust concentration
in the main stream in the duct and in the partial
sucked stream are the same. This way of
measurement is called a gravimetric method, as
the dust stopped in the filter is laboratory
weighed after the measurement. Numerous
accessories of the dust meter set allows also to
measure independently the local gas velocities
in the tested duct and the degree of gas
moisture content.
Technical
solution of the devices, the operating algorithm
of the dust meter and the calculations agree with
valid norms ISO 9096 and ISO/CD 12141.2,
which concerns the dust concentration measurement
below 20 mg/m3.
Functions and
outfit of the dust meter allow its wide
applications. It is possible to use it
especially to :
- make
periodical, control measurements of dust
emission to the atmosphere
- measure dust
concentration in the gas
- test the
efficiency of operation of dedusting
equipment
- measure gas
volume flow rate
- make pre-planned
and calibration measurements of devices
for continuous measurement of dust
concentration and gas volume flow rate
- take
representative sample of dust from the
dusted gas in order to determine
physicochemical properties
- take the
sample of the combustion gases in order
to determine contents of the dioxins,
heavy metals and WWA
- measure dust
concentration, air flow rate and degree
of its humidity in ventilation and air-conditioning
systems and in all the places, where
there is a need to make such a
measurement.
Among the
users of the dust meter EMIOTESTR 2598
are especially pollution control civil services
and measurement services of industrial
enterprises such as: power stations, heat and
power generating plants, smelting works, cement
plants, chemical factories and other.

Measurement layout of the gravimetrical
dust meter EMIOTESTR
2598
Central
control unit is a specialized industrial computer
built in a dustproof shield type "alu-box".
The user contacts with the dust meter system
using a keyboard and an alphanumeric display.
Developed software servicing a dust meter allows
:
- easy
preparation of measurement set (test of
measuring channels, introducting "stable"
values, automatic selection of the
aspiration tip, procedure of control
concerning aspiration line leakproofness
etc.)
- automatic
control of exceeding established levels
of values of selected quantities in order
to avoid measurement errors
- checking all
the measurement parameters during
aspiration, measurement of flow
intensity, measurement of gas humidity
- automatic
regulation to process of gas suction -
visualization of operating trend
- calculating
and transforming the results on a
printer, a computer or a display in a
form of report.
The dust
meter during the aspiration constantly measures
and registers 10 quantities representing
pressures and temperatures, relative humidity and
aspiration time. Values of these quantities are
used in current calculating of isokinetic process
gas suction parameters and resultive calculating
of dust concentration and stream of dust mass.
While measuring a dust meter passes to the
operator the information about the measurement
process, its possible abnormalities and warnings,
that such abnormalities may occur. Information is
passed in a form of screen messages and acoustic
signalling. After measuring there is a
possibility to check received results on a screen
and also on a thermal mini-printer. Sucking
aggregate, which is in a set, with a high ram
effect, makes it possible to conduct gas
aspiration using long tubing (up to 30 m)
allowing easy location of particular elements of
the set, such as probe in the measuring stub pipe
and control unit together with aggregate on a
ground level or in a shielded place.
